Why I love Manuka Honey

Tuesday, December 4, 2018

Are you struggling in trying to find the perfect stocking stuffer this year? I have the a great gift idea for that one family members who is always getting sick and is always getting everyone else sick in the household. GET THEM SOME MANUKA HONEY! Theres nothing worse than trying to spend time with family and not feeling like yourself. I have always been very interested in natural remedies and how simple ingredients can heal us. I recently discovered manuka honey through other blogs and reading about it online. I learned that it is so good for keeping those flu like symptoms away. A couple months back I got sick and I couldn't seem to break from my cough and being congested. I don't know about you but I hate going to the doctor's office and having to wait for a prescription when I have a simply alternative at home.

Manuka honey has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial properties that promote healing, help digestion, and can loosen up and sooth sore throats. It's also known for healing cuts, burns and considered to be a first-aid in ancient times. It has different levels of bio active ingredients and not all manuka honey is created equal. Unfortunately, it is kind of pricey but worth it if you don't want to get sick. On the bottle of manuka honey that you purchase, there is a grading system from 5+ to 24+ to gauge manuka honey's antibacterial strength.

I gave manuka honey a try as one last effort before caving in and going to the doctor's office. It was my second week of coughing, sneezing and being congested and within a day all my symptoms were gone.  I felt my chest loosen up, my cough was gone, and overall felt a lot better. It honestly seemed to work so fast and too good to be true. I was shocked to say the least. Anytime now that I feel like i'm getting sick i'll take a spoonful of honey right before bed to avoid being sick.  I haven't been sick ever since. Manuka honey is also really great for using it as a sweetener. I use it to sweeten up tea or my yogurt in the morning.  I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves natural remedies and superfoods, you won't be disappointed. I'll link the manuka honey that i'm using down below.  Let me know if you try it and what you guys think of it. I would love to hear if it worked for you as well. Thanks for reading you guys. Hope you all have a wonderful day.

Do you Exfoliate?

Thursday, August 2, 2018

Does anyone else love to exfoliate their skin as much as I do? Im obsessed with doing full body exfoliation treatments.  It's like i just got back from a spa every time I do one. I try to do it once every two weeks and I usually just use simple ingredients from my own home. Yes ladies, no need to go out to the store. You probably have everything you need right in your cabinets. All you need is a banana, coconut oil, coffee grounds, some sugar and some honey. Thats it. Typically, I like to exfoliate at least once a month or right before I get a spray tan. Exfoliating before a spray tan is the best way to preserve the tan and make it last for as long as possible. I've noticed my Make-up seems to go on so much smoother as well.   I always just feel fresh and ready to go after I exfoliate. I'll make my treatment and I'll get in the shower and scrub my whole body with it. I like to leave it on my skin for a little bit and then scrub it off.  It truly is the best feeling to get all the dead skin off. Ive been doing this treatment to my skin for years and nothing beats these simple at home ingredients.

what you'll need..

1 Banana
1 tbsp of Coconut oil
1/4 cup of Sugar
1/4 Cup of Coffee Grounds
1 tsp of Honey

Step 1: Mix ingredients together well.
Step 2: Get in the shower and get your body wet.
Step 3: Turn off water and start scrubbing your body really well.
Step 4: Let sit on skin for couple of minutes. Then wash off.

Hello Loves, I hope you are all having a great start to your weekend. I know I am. Ive been so stoked  lately that I can finally wear heels now that my feet are healed, for those of you who don't know... I had surgery about 4 months ago on my feet and its been really hard to wear certain shoes. I'm finally feeling like myself and feel like my feet are back to normal. Today's look is all about dressing up a comfy outfit. I paired a casual, comfy outfit and threw on some heels to dress up the look a bit.  These heels are from Zara and are surprisingly really comfortable. I tried them on and they fit like a glove. I would recommend going up a size in them for sure though. They also looked like good quality and the price wasn't outrageous either. It can be so hard sometimes to find heels that are good quality and that will support your feet. I guess I'm just picky when it comes to heels.  Lets be real for a minute though. Heels are not meant to be comfortable so I should just suck it up regardless, right? Hahah. Beauty is pain laddies. Beauty is pain.....These heels are definitely a great find for my shoe collection.

In other news, I have been searching to find some sunglasses that I could wear everyday and provide some much needed shade. I have other sunnies that are super cute but I don't think they block the sun to the extent that I would like.  Im not sure why but my eyes have been pretty sensitive to the sun lately. These sunnies have really been helping my sensitivity. I found these online from a store called Nora NYC.  You have to check them out. So many unique styles. I wanted to buy them all but I found some kind of will power and control. Hahah.  If you decide you need to buy a pair or anything from Nora NYC site, I have a code for you and you can get 10% off your purchase plus free world wide shipping.  I'll link the code down below along with the sunnies I'm wearing.  I hope you have a great weekend and Ill talk to you guys on my next post. Xoxo
